The SD45 Has Returned! |

Once upon a time Wisconsin Central SD45s rolled through Osceola. Thanks to Canadian National's purchase of the WC, that magnificent stable has been put out to pasture. The Great Northern Historical Society's pride and joy, GN SD45 "Hustle Muscle," however, is at Osceola for the 2015 season, bringing the magic of the SD45 back to the Dresser Subdivision. |

Milwaukee Road Vet |

The stencil says "WC", but the Wisconsin Central was the third owner of this Milwaukee Road bay window caboose. For years it served its original owner and then the Soo Line and the Wisconsin Central without being repainted from its original Milwaukee colors, perhaps because of how cabooses had been relegated to local service or other duties low on the totem pole by the time WC came into being. |

Love Those Milwaukee Road Flangers |
Description: |
Here is the Colfax museum's Milwaukee Road flanger. I love these things, perhaps in part because they were fashioned from steam engine tenders. Note the museum's former Milwaukee Road baggage car in the background. This baby houses the other modules of the museum's Soo Line HO scale layout. Talk about "Soo/Milwaukee"! |
