Album Info:The Cape Fear Railways (CFR) is the designated transportation operator of the military railroad at Fort Bragg and Pope Field. The CFR uses Government owned locomotives and connects to the commercial railroad, CSX Transportation at Fort Junction, NC. The CFR once connected to the Aberdeen & Rockfish Railroad just outside Fayetteville at Skibo Junction. This connection is now abandon, however tracks remain in many places along the right of way.

Description:  Genset 6516 was transferred from Fort Eustis to Fort Bragg. When the engine arrive at Fort Eustis 2 years ago CSX lost it, sending it back and forth between Hamlet and Selkirk. The Army crew wanted to insure the engine would not be lost again...
