Album Info:Here is a three-page article entitled "'Slimming' The PRR For More Efficient Operation." It was published originally in the January-February 1958 issue of "Pennsy" magazine, pages 10-12. No author is specified. "Excess track is like excess fat. It's unnecessary bulk; it consumes nutrition needed elsewhere; and it adds nothing to punching power. A railroad that slims down to its muscles is in much better shape to meet today's challenges." (Page 10)

Description:  Here is page one of a three-page article entitled "'Slimming' The PRR For More Efficient Operation." It was published originally in the January-February 1958 issue of "Pennsy" magazine, page 10. Top Left Photo, Partial Caption: "Three tracks do the work of four on this Main Line section east of Derry, Pa., where No. 1 track was taken up." Prominent here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #5854 and two more units whose road numbers are not recorded. All are EP-20's built by GM-EMD and rated at 2,000 horsepower each. #5854 was constructed in September of 1947. In this context, they're rockin' 'n' rollin' with an eastbound passenger train.
