Album Info:Here are 14 original photos by Mr. Douglas C. Jones that were taken during a railfan excursion sponsored jointly by the Baltimore & Ohio and Pennsylvania Railroads. "On October 4 1953, a fan trip left Washington via the B&O and went to Hagerstown. There, K-4's 3885 and 3843 brought the train up the PRR's Cumberland Valley Branch to Harrisburg." ("The Keystone," March 1978, page 2) Based on photos included here, it appears that the same two "Pacifics" completed the circuit by pulling the train back to Washington via the 83-mile Harrisburg-Baltimore portion of the old Northern Central Railway. All of these images come from negatives I purchased in two eBay auctions conducted by Mr. Jeffrey K. Frangione during April of 2018.
