Top Photo Caption: "First Republican presidential inauguration since 1928 pulled a parade of Pullmans into Washington; these in the Pennsy's 14th Street Freight Yard served their guests as round-trip transportation and capital hotel space too." In the center is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #3843, a K-4S (4-6-2) "Pacific" built in Juniata during March of 1923 and retired in October of 1955 after 32 years of service. |
