Top Right-Hand Photo Caption: "Engine 6777 noses off the Allegheny Bridge toward [Kiskiminetas] Junction." Pennsylvania Railroad engine #6777 is an M-1A (4-8-2) "Mountain" built by the Lima Locomotive Works during March of 1930 and retired in January of 1957 after 27 years of faithful service.

Top Photo Caption: "Westbound VC-1, the Enola-Cleveland hot shot headed by engine 6956, is about to cross the bridge." Pennsylvania Railroad engine #6956 is an M-1 (4-8-2) "Mountain" built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works during December of 1926 and retired in November of 1949. Bottom Photo Caption: "Along the Allegheny River near Freeport are stretches of multiple track. The bluffs usually are only a few feet from the river. Pennsylvania Railroad follows both banks." Shown here is PRR engine #515, an I-1S built in Juniata during October of 1918 and retired in January of 1960.
