Album Info:Howdy, everybody! Went to Leavenworth, Kansas, today. Located just down the Missouri River from Atchison, this home of a famous military fort is full of railroad history. Some tracks still run through it, but the four depots in these photos are reminders of days when railroad tracks were everywhere in Leavenworth! Also, caught a UP train before I left for the evening. Enjoy viewing!

Description:  This was most likely built by the Kansas City, Leavenworth, and Western Railway, "a trolley line that ran from Fort Leavenworth to Kansas City, KS. This is most likely their St Mary's College station." Thanks to Scott P for the help. St. Mary's College is indeed just on the other side of Route 5 from the depot.

Description:  This building was once the bridgekeepers hut for the Terminal Bridge, a railroad bridge over the Missouri River completed in 1894. It was demolished in 1987 shortly after the Chicago & NorthWestern abandoned the bridge. This building, used as the depot later on, now remains at its original spot at Leavenworth Landing Park.
