Album Info:Called the "Newark Industrial Lead" by UP, this is the severed line that once crossed San Francisco Bay via the Dumbarton bridge. UP served a Cargill facility near the old bridge which loaded salt brine into tank cars for shipment to various customers around the country. The job worked one or more times per week as necessary by the Newark Local. It often ran on Sunday mornings, as was the case on 2/27/11 when these images were taken. The line last saw revenue generating cars in Feb/Mar 2011 and now sits dormant.
