Album Info:On the ride to the Civil War encampment and the run-bys of William Mason #25, our steam ride behind St. Elizabeth #4 took us past some of the storage tracks and repair shops. Notable was a long string of "display wanna-be's" - stored cars in need of restoration. It is quite a mix, some easy to recognize and others that I need help identifying. PLEASE leave a comment if you know anything about these pieces.

Description:  Similar to B&O 385897 displayed outside the B&O museum posted earlier, this one still retains some spots of its typical barn red paint but no readable markings. Definitely a future project. Anyone know its number or history?

Description:  Faint indication of a relabeled "P" and the number "38" can be seen. Looks like it might have been a faded Chessie B&O blue at one time similar to the 479000 series plug door.

Description:  Can't tell for sure whether this is a converted MOW car for the Baltimore & Ohio or the Chesapeake & Ohio. It clearly shows the "& O" but not sure of the first reporting mark letter. Anyone know???

Description:  With the help of several people and some more digging, this car has now been tentatively ID'ed as ice breaker B&O 1B3 (or its twin sister), converted from a 2 bay hopper last spotted in working condition in Cumberland, MD on 6/30/1978. One mystery partially solved.

B&O Tender Kitchen Ruins
Title:  B&O Tender Kitchen Ruins
Description:  From what I could gather from the B&O Museum pages, this used to be a repair facility built in 1919. Although it was nicknamed tender kitchen because it was occasionally used for repairing locomotive tenders, it was primarily used for repairing freight cars and was first introduced as the B&O's new "Car Repair Shed." Interesting reading on their site.
