Former Virginia Rail Express locomotives, now owned by GWI and working their various short lines in the Dothan AL area, are seen on the head end of a empty Scherer coal train. I am not sure how many cars are in the train but I would estimate over 100 as they go out of sight before I can see the last car. My only guess is GWI will be storing this train somewhere on the system perhaps on the old spur that goes to the Farley Nuclear plant near Columbia. |

For at least 35 years the Bayline local between Panama City FL and Dothan AL has originated in Panama City running to Dothan and returning to Panama City. Recently this has been basically "flipped". They now originate in Dothan and run to Panama City then return to Dothan. Therefore sets of mainline power are common in the Bayline yard in Dothan. This set is entirely in the GWI corporate colors except for a lease unit in the middle. |
