NATX Tank Car 37300
Title:  NATX Tank Car 37300
Description:  One-of-a-kind North American Car Co. tank car NATX 37300 was on the Penn Central at Thorndale, Pennsylvania. The car had been built by North American Car in 1966 and rode on American Steel Foundry trucks. Small lettering at the near end of the car read "TANK BUILT BY A.M.F. 7-66." Some NACC cars that were assembled in Texarkana had tanks that were built by Beaird Industries, an AMF subsidiary in Shreveport. It was retired in 1987 or 1988, so it lasted over 20 years. This was a very early example of a 6-axle tank car.
