DRGW 102 |
Description: |
DRGW 102 was built by Pullman in 1910 as a heavyweight steel coach. It was leased by the Western Pacific until January 1924. From October 1929 to March 1930 it was rebuild into a business car. DRGW 102 was fitted with six-wheel trucks, the interior tastefully arranged into two elegant staterooms, all lined in natural-finish red gumwood. It was air-conditioned in July 1941 and was modernized sometime in the 1950s with addition of sealed windows. DRGW 102 was retired in December 1964 and was sold to private ownership until 1971 when it to a msueum in Plymouth, MN. Carolina Southern bought the car and it was displayed at their headquaters in Conway, SC. Carolina Southern voluntarily ceased operation on Saturday May 26, 2012 and the car went to Iowa Pacific. In 2013, the Central New York Chapter N.R.H.S. tradded their cricus car for DRGW 102. |
