A GP38-2 doing some switching in the CSX Newell yard. It had just detached from the little train with the caboose. This engine is RCO (remote control operation) equipped but here it did have an engineer. Formerly L&N 6040 built in 1979. |

Here in the year 2010 I was very surprised to stumble upon a caboose still being very actively used by CSX in Newell, Pa. I took this photo as it was being released from a CSX engine by the employee on the left. He told me this had come from the Demmler yard where it had been for several years. |
