| The "Goose" pushes #76 onto SRI's service track. It was a memorable day for everyone involved. Restoration of this locomotive is scheduled to begin very soon, and the engine will be operable and pulling excursion trains at SRI by the summer of 2006. Update, 7/2008: Due to the amount of work involved in keeping Pere Marquette 2-8-4 #1225 in operational form, work has progressed very slowly on the 76. The date for its return to service is currently set at 2010. |
