| Water pours over the snowsheds of the former GN main at Tye WA, deep in the Cascade Mountains. This line was abandoned in 1929 in favor of the current GN/BN/BNSF Cascade Tunnel line, but a good portion of the line survives to this day as a hiking trail. The GN built miles of concrete showsheds for this line after an avalance in 1910 engulphed a train and killed over 90 people. |
