The Denver & Rio Grande Western Heritage Locomotive leads UP Train MLDNP 06 on the UP Coffeyville Sub., which is Ex-MP rail. A Rio Grande engine isn't too far of a stretch here, since a few miles south of here, in Osawatomie, KS, the Mo-Pac used to have a line splitting off of this one, which ended in Pueblo, CO, interchanging with the DRGW. After the UP-MP Merger, DRGW was granted trackage rights over this route to Kansas City. It was also once the route of the MP Streamliner, the "Colorado Eagle", which utilized mostly a Rio Grande routing into Denver. |
