Train 261 typically got SOO SD60s. To balance the trailer pool-the trains carried more eastbound traffic than westbound-some days a 261X would run. This train seemed to get older power, usually SOO SD40s. Todays extra is typical, rolling off the Susquehanna River with a pair of SOO SD40-2s pulling 82 TOFC and 6 COFC cars. As was fairly common, its late morning on a Saturday, and I will spend most of the afternoon chasing this train west. The big building behind the train is the Binghamton Psychiatric Center. |
