This car was built by Budd on Job 9657-112, one of two (the other was number 321, named SILVER PATIO) ordered in March 1951, delivered in December 1952, intended for service on the Kansas City Zephyr. The first small window next to the vestible door was the Womens restroom. After the BN merger, this car was assigned BN 1100, not applied, sold to Amtrak, becoming AMTK 9800, retired in 1977, then sold to Gerome Bulock/Building Leasing Corp., Tom Johnson/Rail Dome Corp., becoming RDCX 320 (800287) in 1987, and now operates on the Branson Scenic Railroad. |
