Constructed by Porter in 1923 for Astoria Power & Light, this locomotive last saw service working for the Brooklyn Eastern District Terminal Railroad along New York Harbor. According to the museum, this engine is notable for being both the last steam locomotive in the East to operate in non preservation for a railroad and the last steam locomotive to operate within the limits of New York City. A long term restoration project of the museum, the bell was available for ringing via a cord this day. |
