| Yard Power. Here is an original photo that I took in Hollidaysburg, Pennsylvania, on 2 August 1960. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #9394, an ES-12 switcher built by GM-EMD in May of 1950 and rated at 1,200 horsepower. The crew is "flat humping" a string of freight cars in the Yard. The pedigree of the self-propelled crane visible at the right is not recorded. Photo was taken just west of the Jones Street crossing, along South Juniata Street. |
