The first diesel train I caught
I really wanted to catch these units. But everytime they came on the close track where I could get unobstructed shots I was too distracted to spot them early enough

Tom Beckett General You're doing well to get diesel trains on the Babylon Branch as it is. Most of them run through Mineola on the Main Line, since most of those runs take the Oyster Bay Branch, or the Port Jeff Branch, splitting off the main at Mineola and Hicksville, respectively, since they need to run the Main Line to reach their destinations. Many(not all, as you observed) Montauk Branch trains also run the Main Line, using the Central Branch to reach the south shore from Hicksville. Good catch. 9/9/2016 2:36:17 AM
