Some structures on a railroad leave no illusion about whose road they are on. The signal gantries on the Santa Fe are one of them. When you see one, you know where you are. This one is at the north end of the siding at Guthrie, on the line from Texas to Newton and on to Kansas City. What I find interesting is, that they put only one signal on the gantry, and the other home signal on a mast below it, instead of both boards up above. These signals are being replaced as PTC is installed across the system. This one may be gone by now. |
