Zak. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide of a photo by Martin Zak that was taken near Mount Union, Pennsylvania, during June of 1954. Shown here (L to R) are Pennsylvania Railroad engines #5890 and another E-8A whose number is not recorded. Both are EP-22's built by GM-EMD and rated at 2,250 horsepower each; #5890 was built in April of 1950. They have just passed under Signal Bridge #2007 with an 11-car passenger train on their way from Harrisburg to Altoona and points West. |
