Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide by an unidentified photographer that was taken near Newport, Pennsylvania, on 17 October 1960. Shown here (L to R) is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #5843 and another unit whose road number is not recorded. Both were built by GM-EMD. #5843 is an EP-20 constructed in August of 1947 and rated at 2,000 horsepower. In this context, they're rockin' 'n' rollin' with Train #43. ("Tchowee"; #9 of 27) |
