CR Power. Here is an original 35mm color slide by Mr. H.E. Brouse that was taken near Cammal, Pennsylvania, on 1 March 1981. Prominent here (L to R) are Conrail engines #6176 and an unidentified GE-built "U-Boat" whose road number is not recorded. #6176 is an SD45 built by GM-EMD for the Pennsylvania Railroad in December of 1967, rated at 3,600 horsepower, then absorbed in turn by the Penn Central Railroad and Conrail. This is an interesting action shot, but it's a really wonderful view of wintertime mountains and rivers in Pennsylvania! (The slide mount is annotated "N/B ENSY1.") |
