Originally built as Monon #517 by Alco in August of 1967, the loco was merged into the L&N roster as LN 1334 when the Monon was taken over. It found its way to the Alco-heavy roster of the Indiana Hi Rail, first as IHRC #1334 as seen here and then renumbered IHRC #334. Dispostion after the IHRC bankruptcy is unknown. Mike Woodruff (see comment below) completed the history of this Alco with the following "It later became Wabash & Ohio 334, then Delaware-Lackawanna 334 in quasi-Lehigh Valley paint, and finally NDC Railroad's 2034 "Blue Ox" in Northumberland, PA where I believe it is extant." Thanks, Mike, for the additional information! It is appreciated. No photographer was listed for the color slide. |
