Chasing the LSL was a completely unexpected venture, but there was no way I was going to let go of one of the OHCR units leading. Ironically, however, a friend of mine and I had decided that we were going to chase the LSL tomorrow several weeks in advance. Since we had planned to cut the northbound chase at Quincy, I decided to leave everything south of Quincy for tomorrows chase. I went north to the diamond and was greeted by dead silence on CSX. There was, however, maintenance working north of the diamond on the DT*I with a tamper. That held up the LSL south of Quincy for a bit. After some more tamping north of the diamond, the tamper received permission across CSX rails and into the siding just south of where Im sitting to allow the LSL to continue northward. |
