Built by Baldwin in August of 1903 as CM&StP Vauclain compound 4-6-0 #428, it was renumbered many times during its long career - renumbered in 3/1907 to #1778, renumbered in 9/1912 to #4378, renumbered and simplified in 5/1918 to #2938, renumbered in 7/1918 to #2886, renumbered in 6/1938 to #1069. The loco was retired in March of 1953 and this was probably the very last photo taken of it before the scrapper's torch did its duty. No photographer was listed. |
