This may be one of the winners having the most numbers in its lifetime! Originally built by Baldwin in October of 1897 as Chicago, Milwaukee & St Paul Vauclain compound ten wheeler #852, it didn't stay that way long - renumbered in 4/1899 to CMStP #221, renumbered in 11/1905 to CMStP #859, renumbered in 2/1913 to CMStP 4106, simplified and renumbered in 5/1915 to CMStP #2356, renumbered in 2/1921 to CMStP #2355, renumbered in 6/1938 to CMStP&P #1145. The loco was scrapped in August of 1951 after nearly 54 years of service. No photographer was listed for the photo. |
