Title:
PRR 4315, I-1SA, 1959
Description:
Coal Power. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide by an unidentified photographer that was taken in Erie, Pennsylvania, in October of 1959. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #4315, an I-1SA (2-10-0) "Decapod" built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works as an I-1S during December of 1922, rebuilt in Juniata as an I-1SA in July of 1941, and retired in October of 1959 after 37 years of faithful service. Note that the driving rods, the bell, and the builder's plate have been removed!
