Built in May 1953 as SW9 2431 (c/n 18097) on EMD Order 4219, it was renumbered to 1431 during August 1974, retired February 18, 1977, rebuilt at San Bernardino to SSB1200 1231 June 27, 1978, traded to Amtrak in September 1984, becoming AMTK 562. B&O GP40 3686 is on the property under lease from August 30, 1979 until the sometime in the 1980's. It will temporarily be renumbered to 9686 while on the AT&SF, later returned to the B&O and still later becoming CSXT 6502, retired September 12, 1989. Rebuilt by Morrison-Knudsen, outshopped December 14, 1990 as SSW GP40R 7284, becoming UP 5422, later renumbered 1519. |
