Title:
PRR 4490, I-1SA, c. 1955
Description:
TRB. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide by an unidentified photographer that was taken at the Rockville Bridge near Marysville, Pennsylvania, c. 1955. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #4490, an I-1SA (2-10-0) "Decapod" built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works as an I-1S during June of 1923, rebuilt in Juniata as an I-1SA in March of 1941, and retired in August of 1956 after 33 years of service. It's just about to cross the Bridge with a mixed-cargo freight train out of the Enola Yards.
