Hazy. Here is an original photo that I took of a Penn Central Railroad train in Altoona, Pennsylvania, during July of 1973. Shown here (R to L) are PC engines #9136 and #9158. #9136 is an SW-9 built by EMD in 1953 and rated at 1,200 horsepower; its original PRR number was "8536." #9158 is an NW-2 built by EMD in September of 1948; its original NYC number was "8733." They are about to pass under the 4th Street Bridge with a four-car mixed-cargo local freight train, plus two cabin cars! Photo taken from the 4th Street Bridge. |
